Harry Potter Escape Rooms

We had a great time with this program for children and teens but registration is now complete.  We will be holding a Harry Potter Escape room for adults in early 2018.  Note that only Barrie or Oro-Medonte residents or Barrie Public Library card holders are eligible for this program.

Summer Reading Toolkit from Ontario Library Association

Are you looking for a way to keep your child reading this summer?  Hundreds of children fall victim to the summer slide: when students lose academic development and achievement gains over the summer months.  Contrary to popular belief, 76% of kids enjoy reading books over the summer (Scholastic Canada info).  This Summer Reading Toolkit for Parents was designed by the Ontario Library Association to help parents help their kids through the summer months.  It was made possible by a generous Parents Reaching Out grant from Ontario's Ministry of Education.  So as well as playing Readopoly at the Barrie Public Library, take a peek at the toolkit!
