Summer Reading Programs for Children & Teens
Kick off the summer with some reading fun for all ages! Registration starts this week for:
Readopoly Great Canadian Reading Race - "Go! Bon Voyage! TD Summer Reading Program"
Are you ready for a "Great Canadian Reading Race"? Readopoly is our free summer reading activity played using a big board game. Every year we use the TD Summer Reading Program theme to make up a new board. The places on the board suggest what kinds of books to read. All you have to do is have fun reading and then tell us about it. When you finish the board, you get a free book to keep!
You can play Readopoly at the Children’s Information desk at the Downtown or Painswick library locations whenever the library is open but are limited to one turn a day. You can join at any time during the summer months. Readopoly may be played in English, or in French when French speaking staff are available.
You can join if you are at least 3 years old. When you are going into grade 7, then you get to move on to our Teen Summer Reading Program.
Seven Wonders in 60 Days: Teen Summer Reading Program
Teens are invited to race around the world and explore the “Seven Wonders in 60 Days” by participating in the Library’s teen summer reading program. Register in person at an Information Desk and pick up your free passport. You can join at any time during the summer months. The summer reading program for teens may be played in English or in French when French speaking staff is available. Downtown and Painswick during library hours.
