Knitted Knockers Information
We're excited that our Knitted Knockers program has been receiving a lot of attention! CTV News Barrie featured a great story on January 7: http://barrie.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=777631&binId=1.1476789&playlistPageNum=1 (clip starts at 9:25)
Knitted Knockers is a volunteer-led program that began in June 2015. The group gets together monthly to knit special hand-made breast prostheses for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures to the breast. These soft, comfortable, lightweight prostheses are provided free of charge and distributed locally to women in Barrie.
We need more knitters!
The group meets on the first Thursday of every month Downtown. It's a drop-in, and we're always looking for more knitters! If you are unable to join our knitting group in person, there are also patterns available online to knit from home. Visit the Knitted Knockers website to download the patterns.
