Barrie Dragon Boat Festival - August 26, 2017
The Barrie Public Library is the proud host of Barrie's largest waterfront festival, the Barrie Dragon Boat Festival. This is an annual event that is made possible by the support of our sponsors, volunteers and community teams. The Festival is held at the City of Barrie's beautiful Heritage Park, with racing on the waters of Kempenfelt Bay.
The 15th annual Barrie Dragon Boat Festival will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2017. The festival is designed as a community event which supports many other charities alongside the Library. Each team is required to submit their registration fee, as well as pledge a minimum of $500.00 that they will fundraise for the charity of their choice. Practices typically occur between mid-May to end of August. The event day is filled with dragon boat races, community vendors, a kid's zone, beer garden, live entertainment and more!
